No ‘poo
I don’t wash my hair very often. Even though I run everyday, I still don’t wash my hair everyday. Some days I’ll only rinse in the shower; others I might only use conditioner. I actually shampoo about once every three or four days, and even then it’s not because my hair is necessarily oily so much as I feel like I’m supposed to wash it. Because going for longer than a week without shampooing is just gross right? Maybe not so much.
If you haven’t heard of the no ‘poo movement, it’s pretty interesting. The founding thought is that the chemicals in shampoo strip the hair of natural oils, ultimately causing the scalp to produce more oils. Ipso facto, the more you ‘poo, the more you need to. Which kind of makes sense, no?
So I’m going to try no ‘poo. I have naturally curly hair which doesn’t always curl so great at my current length (a very short, barely legit bob), but maybe if it wasn’t loaded with chemicals from my shampoo, it would. I am going to use this Lavender Honey No ‘poo Conditioner twice a week until I think my hair is more manageable, and then try to ween it down to once a week. Maybe I’ll get to a point where all I need is water!
I’ll let you know how it goes!
